Attrition Mills
Attrition mills are simple and effective high speed mills used for the grinding of difficult products. Attrition mills consist of a centrally mounted agitator shaft or stirring element on which bars or discs are attached. The agitator is located within a vertical or horizontal grinding compartment in which the grinding media is contained. As the agitator rotates the grinding media is accelerated which results in the product being finely ground. Attrition mills are often used in the ceramics, chemicals, coatings, paints and mining industries. Manufacturers of attrition mills include Eiger Torrance and Netzsch.
