Rising Film Evaporators

Rising Film Evaporators are often used on highly viscous products. In a rising film evaporator product liquor enters at the bottom of the tube assembly and as it heats, steam forms. The steam forces the liquid to flow upwards. At the same time the production of vapour increases and the product is pressed as a thin film along the walls of the tubes. The concentrate is separated from the vapour and removed from the evaporator.
