Super Absorbent Polymer (SAP) Plant, installed 2001, designed to produce 3rd Generation SAP, however was producing 3rd & 4th generation and had made progress improvements towards 5th generation before its closure. The plant design includes 3 main production lines each rated to a capacity of 3ton/hr base polymer (total 9ton/hr max rate). A single line of capacity 9ton/hr post base polymer for surface cross linking and thermal initiation i.e. All base lines feed a single surface cross linking system and sizing system. Major items of equipment include: 3 x Lodige continuous plough share mixers, 3 x mixer extruders, 3 x Petrie Dryers gas heated belt dryers, a Buhler grinding plant, 3 x Locker Rotex vibratory screens, 4 screw hollow flight dryer.
