In 2004 the Hickson and Welsh facility in Castleford,West Yorkshire was bought out as part of a management buyout and formed C6 Solutions Ltd. As part of the buyout 3Di Equipment were asked to provide a written valuation of the facility for a large lending institution.
In 2005 it was announced that the C6 Solutions Ltd. were going into administration and would end manufacturing in the autumn of 2005. Subsequently the facility and its assets were to be disposed of. The site isaround 175 acres and contains (1) Phosgenation Plant, (2) Hydrogenation Plants, (2) Hydrogen Plants, Spray drying Plant, (4) Rosenmund Filter Dryers, (2) Hastelloy Filter Dryers, various reactors, numerous storage vessels and other items of equipment.
In the summer of 2005, the liquidators Tennon Recovery appointed 3Di Equipment and Bache Treharne as joint sales agents to dispose of the Plants and equipment at the manufacturing facility.
Over the next 18 months 3Di and Bache marketed the facility globally with brochures and direct mail. This resulted in the sale of a number of individual items as well as the sale of both Hydrogen plants, the Hydrogenation Plants and Phosgenation Plant.
