| STK-ID: 1405 Plant Built: 1995 Plant Shut Down: 2009 |
| Technology: Hosokawa Alpine |
Description 1 off Fine Grinding Plant, Designed by Hosokawa Alpine, 1995, system consists of a PSL Glove box and drum tipper, Matcon feed hopper, Rospen feed system, Alpine jet mill (200AFG), reverse jet filter & PSL sampler flow booth. |
More Details Product in kegs is loaded via a drum tipper into a PSL glovebox on the top floor. Product is then manually emptied within the glovebox into the matcon holding hopper below. Once in the hopper, the Matcon cone valve opens intermittently to allow the product to drop through to the microniser holding hopper. Product is fed via a Rospen screw feeder and rotary valve at a controlled rate into the microniser (Alpine Jet Mill). The product is micronised using high pressure process air. Once the particles are below a certain size, they pass through the rotating classifer and into the bag filter. The micronising air passes through a HEPA filter to a fan and out to atmosphere. This fan maintains the microniser and bag filter at a negative pressure. The product then drops from the bag filter to a rotary valve to be discharged with a PSL sampler flow booth on the ground floor. |
