Techfill Ltd, UK

Case Study

Techfill

Techfill Ltd was a manufacturer of soaps and detergents. In 2004 the facility was closed due to loss of a major contract. Techfill's objective was to dispose of their assets and realise the maximum revenue possible. 3Di were invited to inspect the facility and the assets, which included: Stainless Steel tank farm, GRP tank farm, 3 blending rooms, filling lines, and other ancillary items of equipment.

Following the inspection and discussions with the personnel from Techfill, 3Di decided to offer an outright purchase of 75% of the production assets. An offer was made and accepted within hours of inspection of the facility.

3Di had to mobilise quickly as a programme of 6 weeks was put into place, to remove all the equipment and leave the buildings in good condition. Our rigging team was brought in and dismantling of vessels began immediately. The plant dismantling was carried out under CDM regulations and great care had to be taken as flammable liquids still remained in some pipe work.

Once the vessels and equipment had been safely dismantled, rigged and removed from the buildings, transport was arranged and the vessels and other associated equipment were loaded and transported into storage. The project was completed within the 6 weeks agreed and the facility was left in a safe and clean state.
