Description
1 off 3m3/hr Purified Water Plant, design by Vivendi Water Systems, 2002. The Purified water system comprises of various process units, with a central control panel. The complete plant can be considered as one system consisting of equipment to pre-condidtion and polish the incoming feed water and produce 'Final' water quality.

The purified water (from the generation system) is continously re-circulated when the purified water tank is at high level. The central control panel provides a central location for power distribution for all the associated together with all control and interlock functions. The incoming feed water supply is filtered through a series of filtration units consisting of 40micron, 10 micron and 5 micron filter housings installed in series, before entering a 2000Litre capacity raw water storage tank. From the tank a single pump pumps the water continuously through a duplex water softener, a 1 micron filter housing and a de-chlorination UV unit. The pre-treated water then feeds a reverse osmosis unit, CDI Unit and a final UV Unit. Purified water exiting the final UV unit is fed to a purified water storage tank. When the purified water storage tank is at high level or during conditions of 'high conductivity' the purified water exiting the final UV unit is diverted from the purified water storage tank back to the raw water storage tank. All pipework and equipment from the CDI unit to the point of use is considered as 'hygenic' where as everything prior to this demarcation point is considered as non hygenic. The system design and arrangement for 'hygenic' sections of plant will generally include and consider the following: CGMP, Minimum dead legs, Hygenic pipe, valves and fittings, drainability and minimum line velocity of 1 m/s.
