Hammer Mills

Hammer mills are impact mills and can be used to mill hard or soft materials and across a range of industries making them one of the most widely used type of mill. They are very robust and generally have low maintenance costs even when used under the most arduous of conditions. They consist of a number of hammers hinged to an axle. Material is fed from the top of the mill and is thrown out centrifugally and crushed by being beaten between the hammer bars. The material is beaten until it is small enough to fall through the screen in the lower half of the mill.
