Paddle blade mixers are used for the mixing of powders, pastes and liquids across a range of processing industries. They consists of a horizontal drum shaped chamber which contains a central shaft with paddles attached which is driven by a motor.
Paddle mixers can be constructed from stainless steel or carbon steel and can be built with jackets for drying or designed for vacuum. Generally they are used for batch processing of materials. Material enters the mixer via a top inlet and it is mixed, once the mixing is completed the material is discharged through a bottom discharge valve. The advantages of industrial paddle blade mixers is that they tend to be robust in design and have low maintenance costs associated with them.
Manufacturers include Morton, Kemutec, Winkworth, Forberg and many more.
