Batch Reactors

Batch reactors, chemical reactors or pressure reactors are terms used to describe vessels used in the production of chemicals. Batch reactor consists of cylindrical dished vessel with internal baffles, a top mounted drive and agitator and a jacket for heating or cooling. They are fabricated from either steel, stainless steel, glass lined steel or exotic alloy depending on the corrosiveness of the chemical reaction taking place.

Batch reactors are mainly used in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries however more recently they have been used in the production of bio fuels. Batch reactors are very versatile and can easily carry out a sequence of different operations without the need to break containment.
