AkzoNobel are a global manufacturer and supplier of decorative paints and speciality coatings. Brands they manufacture include Armstead, Cuprinol and Dulux. In 2018 Akzo Nobel decommissioned and shutdown their Dulux paint manufacturing facility in Slough. As part of the closure 3DI purchased from AkzoNobel a number of items of equipment that were surplus to requirements. The equipment included various stainless steel storage tanks, pumps, cooling towers, reverse osmosis plant and a paint mixing plant.
3DI operatives over the course of eight weeks completed the careful dismantling and removal of the equipment from site and into storage for resale. The scope of work involved equipment dismantling, rigging and contract lifting.
