McBride are a leading european manufacturer and supplier of private label and contact manufactured products for the domestic household and professional markets. McBride announced plans to exit the aerosol sector and in so doing closed its aerosols production factory in Hull.
3Di were invited to inspect with a view to purchase the surplus equipment on site. Following an inspection of the equipment 3Di agreed to purchase the blending plants and tank farms from McBride.
As part of the purchase 3Di were responsible for the decommissioning and dismantling of the blending plants and storage tanks. The project involved the entire strip out of three blending plants including the removal of LEV, blending vessels, pipework and supporting steel mezzanine flooring. As well as the removal of storage tanks and pipelines from the external tank farms.
The scope of work included industrial cleaning, asbestos removal, disposal of hazardous waste, equipment rigging, plant dismantling, contract lifting and hot works. The project was completed over the course of three months in line with the programme and to the satisfaction of McBride.
