Industrial Plate dryers are mainly used in the production of fine and speciality chemicals. Plate dryers are continuous dryers, suitable for drying powders and granular materials which are free flowing and non-caking.
Drying can take place under vacuum or at atmospheric pressure. Material is fed into the top of the dryer onto the first series of heated plates. The rotating raking system turns and conveys the drying product in a spiral path through several revolutions to and over the outer rim of the plate. The product then trickles to the plate below where the material is conveyed to the centre in the same manner as before. This process repeats itself as many times as is necessary until the dry material leaves the dryer at the bottom.
