Centrifugal Pumps

Sell Your Equipment

Centrifugal pumps are the most common types of pumps used in the chemical, food and beverage, pharmaceutical, oil and gas and other related industries. The reason they are so common is there simplistic design and durability.  They are designed for transferring liquids with relatively low viscosity at high flow rates.

Although there are many different configurations of centrifugal pumps they essentially consist of a shaft driven impeller that rotates within a casing.  With a typical centrifugal pump fluid enters the suction port or casing inlet and the rotating impeller accelerates the flow of the fluid.  The centrifugal force moves the fluid towards the outer edge of the impeller. As a result fluid is transferred under pressure through the discharge port or outlet.  Manufacturers of centrifugal pumps include Durco, KSB, Ingersoll Dresser, HMD Kontro, APV, Labour, Sterling and many more.
