Durco

A brand originally designed for the chemical industry, the Duriron Corporation was founded in 1912 by three associates William F. Hall, Richmond Pitman and Pierce D. Schenk. Building on a strong foundation, the brand really started to grow in the 1920s and 1930s and as a result, started to manufacture a much wider range of products – and that’s where the Durco valves and pump products really started up.

A move towards off-the-shelf sales in the late 1930s led to the company building a reputation for high quality manufacturing which was accessible to the wider market and by the 1940s the products that Duriron produced were starting to become accepted widely across the chemical industry.

At around this time the pump and valve products that the brand produced were renamed “Durco” with the aim of highlighting the high quality manufacturing and craftsmanship that went into the products. This high quality has been maintained right through to modern day, where Durco products are regarded among some of the best in the industry
