Storage Tanks

Sell Your Equipment

Storage tanks are used for storing of liquids such as beverages, water, oils, fats, chemicals and other forms of liquids used in the processing industries. Types of storage tanks tend to vary depending on the material of construction. Generally they are constructed from various stainless steels, mild steel or carbon steel, steel with glass lining and plastic materials.

Tanks are either horizontal or vertical and cylindrical or rectangular. Larger tanks tend to vertical and cylindrical, the ends can be flat, sloping, conical or dished at the bottom and open, dished, flat or conical at the top. Additional features can include fitting a jacket or internal coil for heating or cooling of the liquid and supplying a rectangular bund to safely contain leakages. The material of construction of a tank depends on the type of liquid to be stored within the tank.

Storage tanks tend to be constructed by engineering companies and specialist fabricators such as Ardeth Engineering, Conway Vickers, Cookson & Zinn, Bibbys of Halifax, Sinclair Stainless, T Giusti, DeDietrich, Forbes, Pfaudler and many more.
