Filter Press

Sell Your Equipment

Filter presses are widely used across industrial processing sectors for efficient liquid-solid separation, dewatering, and sludge treatment applications. Operating as a batch filtration system, a filter press uses pressure to force liquid through a series of filter plates, capturing solids and forming a filter cake within the chambers. The clarified filtrate is then collected through dedicated pipework, while the filter cake is removed once the filtration cycle is complete.

Filter presses are commonly used in industries including chemical processing, food and beverage production, pharmaceuticals, wastewater treatment, mining, and general manufacturing. Their ability to achieve high solids recovery and produce dry filter cakes makes them a cost-effective and reliable filtration solution.

There are three main types of filter press available:

  • Plate and Frame Filter Presses – Traditional designs offering flexibility for a wide range of filtration applications.
  • Recessed Chamber Filter Presses – Featuring recessed plates that create filtration chambers without separate frames, providing improved efficiency and easier operation.
  • Membrane Filter Presses – Designed with flexible membranes that further compress the filter cake, reducing moisture content and increasing filtration performance.

Filter press plates are typically manufactured from polypropylene, stainless steel, or carbon steel, depending on the application requirements, operating pressures, and chemical compatibility.

We supply a range of high-quality used filter presses from leading manufacturers including Andritz, Carlson, Edwards & Jones, Latham International, Micronics Filtration, R&B Filtration, Seitz, Netzsch, JWI, and Yabuta.
