Ribbon blade mixers, ribbon blenders or u trough mixers as they are also known are used for mixing powders with liquids or for light pastes and creams. They are often used in the adhesives, building products, chemicals, cosmetics, detergents, pharmaceuticals and other related industries.
Ribbon blade mixers consist of a horizontal u trough chamber which contains a central shaft with an interrupted spiral blade driven by a motor. Often they come with a hinged lid for easy access and cleaning. They can also be supplied with jacketed chambers, operate under vacuum and be continuous or batch.
