Glass Lined Reactors

Glass lined reactors are mainly used in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries where strong corrosive acids are part of the process. They are similar to most reactors however they are constructed from carbon steel and are glass lined internally.

Glass lined reactors are chemically inert and resistant to most corrosive substances even under extreme thermal conditions. There are a number of different types of each varying slightly in their construction. Most are fitted with an agitator drive, mechanical seal, impellor or cryolock agitator and baffle. There are various different types of agitator now available depending on the type of reaction that is required as part of the process. Manufacturers of glass lined reactors include DeDietrich, Pfaudler, Buchi, Tycon, Schwelm and Taiji.
